Temporary Calibration Technician

We are searching for a Temporary Instrument Calibration & Repair Technician to fill in while an employee is out on leave for several weeks to certify new inspection instruments, receipt inspect customer instruments, perform ISO and non-ISO calibrations, assemble kits, and produce certificates. This position is fully in-office Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. for a temporary period of time (approximately 4-6 weeks) in our corporate headquarters located in Pittsburgh (Findlay Township) near the Pittsburgh International Airport.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with Manufacturers: Partner with top instrument manufacturers to manage repairs beyond our internal capabilities.
- Certifying New Instruments: Ensure our inventory remains top-notch by certifying new instruments for new equipment orders.
- Receipt Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections upon receipt and meticulously record "as found" conditions.
- Instrument Calibration: Perform precise calibrations to maintain the highest standards of accuracy.
- ISO-Accredited Calibrations: Provide ISO-accredited calibrations upon request, ensuring compliance and reliability.
- Digital Record Keeping: Log test data digitally and generate certificates using our proprietary GageHub™ system.
- Kit Creation: Assemble custom inspection kits tailored to meet unique client needs.
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction & Service Efficiency:
- Instrument Inspection and Certification: Conduct thorough inspections and tagging of instruments, produce certificates, and ensure they are accurately uploaded to the GageHub™ portal for customer access.
- Customer Satisfaction: Guarantee customer satisfaction by verifying the correct quantity of items in each kit before stocking.
- Workplace Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe working environment to enhance testing efficiency and ensure optimal results.
- Efficient Inventory Management: Adhere to a first-in, first-out process to keep our customers equipment organized and returned to them promptly.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
- Essential knowledge of general office skills, computers, and basic math principles.
- Safely lift up to 25 pounds; ability to hear, speak, see close and in color with the ability to adjust focus; manual dexterity needed to handle various instruments and gauges.
