Laborer

KTA-Tator, Inc. (KTA) is a 100% employee-owned consulting engineering firm recognized as a leading expert in corrosion protection for 70 years! We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and professional Maintenance Technician/Laborer to support the Building Maintenance Department in the corporate office, located in RIDC Park West in Robinson Township. This is a full-time position with health, dental, vision, and retirement plans offered. Some of the tasks required include:

  • Assisting with the maintenance of the Corporate office building and grounds;
  • Assisting with preparation of laboratory samples and support of laboratory personnel for miscellaneous project-related tasks;
  • Abrasive blast cleaning and packaging of steel test panels, including routine maintenance of the blast cleaning equipment; and
  • Assisting with abrasive media testing.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Mechanically inclined
  • Prior experience with hand-operated power tools and shop machines
  • Basic electrical & plumbing knowledge
  • Grounds keeping skills (basic landscaping, walkway snow removal, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb and work from step ladders and extension ladders
  • Ability to feel textures
  • Manual dexterity (to handle small objects, tools, instruments or gages)
  • Ability to wear a respirator and smell

 

We need a reliable employee with a safety-first mindset, has excellent people skills, and can work independently. Valid driver’s license and ability/willingness to operate a forklift are required. Must be able to climb and work from extension and step ladders. Basic computer skills are necessary for daily email correspondence and time entry.
